It seems to have been written by a non-native speaker or a native speaker of an Asian dialect. I would have said that you can't carry out your lot, but that "lot" is in the OED in the meaning "allotted task", labelled "now rare". I have to wonder whether it is not a fossil preserved in a foreign dialect.

"Now" looks like an adverb to me.

I'd take "now" as an adverb functioning as a temporal adjunct.
