What do I say if I missed to congratulate someone on birthday or holiday?

"Thank you" is almost always a proper response to "congratulations."

However, I don't think many people here congratuate others on going on a holdiay, and it's more common to say "Happy birthday!" than "Congratulations" on someone's birthday.

Well, I meant what to say if I missed to congratulate. For example: Happy belated birthday.
Is that okay? What else can I say?

Not really. If it's after a holiday, you simply say something like "I hope you enjoyed ...."

Merry Christmas up until Dec 25. Then "Did you have a nice Christmas?" after that. (Although "Happy Holidays" would be okay for a while longer.)

Happy New Year works for the first few days of the new year, but by Jan 10 or so, "I hope your new year is off to a good start" or something li
