0 "Happy Birthday" is much more common. However, reaching a milestone birthday, such as 80 or 90, might be worthy of "congratulations". 0-

0 I've always wondered this, what if you are just talking to a friend and all in a sudden your friend tells you that it's a friend's birthday?02br
00What am I supposed to say? Something like "...I'm going to say 'Happy Birthday' to him"? Or, would "...I'm going to congratulate him" sound better?02br

0Hello Cool Breeze 05002br
00 It's not that what I wanted to say, actually I don't know how to say it..thing is that "I'm going to happy birthday her" sounds horrible! Maybe "I'm going to wish happy birthday to her"? 010id1

0 In Italian it would be something like 01i00"I will do him the wishis"02i00, LOL, but in English I only know you can use the verb "to wish" as in "I'll wish him a merry Christmas".02br
00So I guess 01i01b00"I'll wish him a happy birthday"02b02i00 could be acceptable, but I can't be sure because I've never actually heard it

0 To wish someone Happy Birthday is fine.02br
00I just called to wish you Happy Birthday.02br
00 You could also use - say Happy Birthday - - I want to see him to say Happy Birthday 0-
