People learn in different ways - try different methods and levels and find the ones that you learn best from. For myself, in learning Turkish I find reading the subtitles for Turkish films on the left side of the screen with the subtitles for the same film in English on the right hand side can really help, using lingoes to hover over unknown words to get their meaning. You can open subtitles in a plain text editor such as "notepad2".
