Confusion with "their"

Switzerland just confines their rival to their own goal post and doesnt give many goal positions .

I meant to say Switzerland's goal post. But I was a little bit confused because it can also refer to the rival's goal post. What is your understanding and what can be done in this sentence in order to clarify the meaning?
