Confusion

I want to ask someone what they like to do without being polite and with being polite. Can I say:

A: Would you like skating? Just to ask politely if they like skating.

B: Do you like skating? Asking to know if they like skating. Asking directly.

So,

can I use sentence A to ask politely and sentence B to ask somebody directly to know if they like skating? Thank you in advance.
