Confused words ( to lecture, to castigate and to give sb a dressing down)

1) He lectured me this morning.

2) He castigated me this morning.

3) He gave me a dressing down this morning.

4) He corrected me this morning.

Are they the same meaning? which one is commonly used in daily conversation?

Thanks
