Confused teenager

if they really trusted her, her parents would let her go away with her friends for the long weekend. Everybody else was allowed to go. She told them that nothing bad would be going on. So, maybe she was lying a little. She wanted to be with her friends more than with her parents. thhey said they were doing this for her own good. Accidents had happened in the past. What did they know, anyway? She wish she had parents who understood what it was really like be a teenager.

Q: can you please help me make sense of this situation!
