Confused on this sentence

We leave the timbers in good shape, and we're very careful of damaging other trees.

Is that a correct sentence? I'm not quite sure what "....we're very careful of damaging other trees" really means.

Top answer

We leave the timber in good shape, and we're very careful of damaging other trees. Timber (non-count) is the trees that are cut down for commercial purposes. The other trees might be to sustain a diversified forest environment.
