Confused about using 'the'
This is definitely silly; using articles should be easy. But, recently, as I started dwelling on them too much, I started making mistakes that I didn't before and now I am looking for a rule of thumb to help me.
The problem is I am not sure about the following two sentences and similar sentences:
1.The children were now donning scarves and ties of adulthood.
2. Using computers has been harder for people born in the 90s.
Someone corrected my first sentence and said it should be: The children were now donning the scarves and ties of adulthood. So, shouldn't the second sentence be: Using computers has been harder for the people born in the 90s.
The problem is I am not sure about the following two sentences and similar sentences:
1.The children were now donning scarves and ties of adulthood.
2. Using computers has been harder for people born in the 90s.
