Confused

I would like to check if this sentence is grammatically acceptable.

Please check your work before handing in.

Does the word, "handing" , being a transitive verb, needs the noun/pronoun, "it"?

Is it acceptable to omit the word, "it", as the noun is already mentioned in the the first clause?

Thanks!

I think you need to review:

Please check your work before handing in. = Please check your work before you hand it in.

"Handing" is used in a reduced clause. "It" is a pronoun referring to your "work".

It - is needed in this conte
