Which example is correct?

A. My friend went to an Oasis concert in 2009, he said they weren't as good as they used to be. In his words, "they're rubbish now, Keyboard Warrior".

They apper to be the same... unless you are talking about the placement of the period before or after the final quotation mark. (you should have given an old man's eyes a warning ) The New York Times and The Economist stlye and usage manuals differ on this point, each finally saying that it's a matter of individual style.
