I have just heard this sentence:
I never saw it ,,,,,,shouldnt we use I have/had never seen it.
and...
I already knew it.,,,,,,,,,,shouldnt we use I have/had already known it

I can only speak for American English.

Both "I never saw it" and "I have never seen it" are heard in the U.S.

"I waited two hours for the bus. In that two hours, I never saw it." ("I have never seen it" not possible in this context.)
