Conform to

Is this sentence correct? Can I make it better?
When an artist conforms to the way record labels, managers, etc see them to make money through commercial success and generally not the original fan base, he is called a sellout.

Thanks

" simply means "I can't think of anything else right now". I think this is one of those cases, and it muddles an already lengthy sentence. When artists conform to the way record labels and managers see them just as a way to make money through commercial success, and generally are not the original fan base, they are known as a sellout.
