Conditionals without "if"

I've found following two sentences from Game of Thrones. It is seemed like conditional sentences, though there is no "if". Please someone let me know the meaning of two sentences are similar to the sentences that I've written bellow.


Giving you to the Unsullied would start a war.

Letting you walk free would start a war.


The sentences that I've written in order to verify the meaning.

If they give to to the Unsullied would start a war.

If they let you walk free, would start a war.


Furthermore, is above sentence type which begin with ing-form, can act as conditionals? In addition, is the English in the TV shows like Game of Thrones considered to be old fashioned and obsoleted?
