Conditionals: "aux + subj + verb(inf)" construction

Hello, I am a non-native English speaker and I just wanted to know whether a construction of the kind "aux (will/would) + subj + verb(inf)" would be a correct one in conditional sentences, so instead of saying, for instance, "If this was/were the case, ..." you can have "Would this be the case, ..." as an alternative grammatical option.
For me it doesn't sound odd, but I have just searched for cases on the web and could only manage to find the ones with the auxiliary "shall/should" (perhaps because it is too formal?), so I am wondering whether this construction is standard also with "will/would".

Thanks.
