Conditional sentence - what'w wrong?

Hello,
I have a problem with this sentence:
Please ask the doctor for my test results if you see her. The author of the book wher I found it implies it is wrong but doesn't explains why it is so...

Hi Anon I imagine the author might have been trying to test you on the difference between the use of "if" and "when". However, in my opinion, it's not a terribly good sentence for that purpose. Here is what the difference in meaning would be: - Please ask the doctor for my test results if you see her .
