Does the sentence "If we had known yesterday that if we chose to go outside, we would have to stay at home today, we wouldn't have chosen it" make sense?

To me, it makes sense, but I don't really know if you could use such nesting to express the meaning. It might not sound that clear to the listener, though. It needs correcting too, I think.

Yes, except the choice is between going outside and staying inside or staying in the house, not going outside and staying at home.

I've got to admit that the sentence is confusing.
If we had known X yesterday, we wouldn't have chosen X.
X = that if we chose to go outside, we would have to stay at home today
Is it like that?
