Conditional sentence

#1 I had hoped that I would see you the other day but unfortunately I fell ill.

Is this sentence correct? For me it is type third conditional so it should be "I would have seen".

We use mix type conditional if there is a effect of past action on current situation.

exp: If you had informed me I would be there(now).

But this is not the case with sentence #1. So I think #1 is incorrect.

No, it is not the third conditional. In that sentence, "would" is the past form of "will."

There is no if-clause, so it cannot be a conditional sentence. All conditional sentences have an if-clause or an unless-clause.
