Conditional Sentence

Which one is correct?

If I hadn't broken my leg, I would go on holiday with you.

If I didn't break my leg, I would go on holiday with you.

The first is correct- this is how you would refer to a one-time event.

The second sentence; this wording is how you would refer to something that happens continually- for example: "If I didn't dislike the beach, I would go on holiday with you."

Here are more examples that may help with the concept:

"If I didn't have children, I could go on holiday any time I like."

I think the first is correct. Because act "break my leg" had happened and finished. It happened before you went on holiday. So i think this is mix condition sentence!

As my friends said, the first one is correct.

You have to use mixed conditional between typeIII(unreal past) and typeII(Unreal present).

Ex. If I hadn't broken my leg, I would have gone on holiday with you.

the following is the unreal past conditional, it means that you broke your leg and you didn't go on holidays.

Ex. If i hadn't broken m

hrsaneiYou have to use mixed conditional between typeIII(unreal past) and typeII(Unreal present). I am not too clear about this statement though. If something is counter-factual, such as " If it had been sunny, we could have gone out." The fact : " it rained and therefore we stayed home ".

Unreal and real conditionals are jargons used in every Grammar book.

You can have mixed conditional between all conditional forms.
