Conditional sentence

Hi there!

Is there any difference between these two :

If Bob were to have a chance of success, he wolud need to move to london.

If Bob had a chance of success, he wolud need to move to london.

Thanks for the answer pal. But I have taken these two examples from the Cambridge Advanced grammer in Use. I just couldn't get the difference and the meaning.
