Conditional clauses

is this sentence correct?

This is a great oppurtunity if you are to achieve success in your life time.
or should it be,
This will be a great oppurtunity....
because, I ve been taught that in this type of conditional sentences "if" is always followed by "will"

for example "if you cry mama will come."

thanks

I think the conditional sentence can be followed by "would" as well as "will", as in,
"This could be a great opportunity if you would achieve success in your lifetime."
