What' the difference between these two sentences:

If you are coming from Houston, you can fly to Burbank Airport. And

If you were coming from Houston, you could fly to Burbank Airport.

What's the difference if someone asks me how to get to Burbank by flight?

Use #1, because it makes it sound like the person will actually do it.
