Condition? in this context?

He conducted a research to determine students' acheivement. He thought a result of the research would change depending on their condition.

'Condition' I meant in the sentence can be students' health, mood(feeling), feeling drowsy etc.

Do you use 'condition' like that? If now what wordscan be introduced?

Don't say 'a research'. The word is uncountable. Say eg some research, a piece of research, a researcb project.

'Condition' cannot mean health, mood and feeling drowsy etc......

And the reason why 'the' comes in front of 'outcome' is that 'outcome' is not an outcome of a test but the outcome of the tests, is it?
