Concept questions

Hello

I have decided to forfill a life long dream and study to teach English but am really struggling with concept questions.

The question is :-
When he arrived at the station, the train had left.

My answers are:-
"You are too late. The train has left."
He told us that the train had left.
He said that the train left before he arrived at the station.
He said that the train had left before he had arrived at the station.

But I am not entirely confident this is correct could anyone please assist or give me some guidelines I am not looking for the answers as that would be counter productive.

Thank you in advance

  • Try to think of questions you can ask that will show they have understood when they answer them?

Good point let me re-phrase that

I need to ask students concept questions to ensure they understand.

When he arrived at the station, the train had left

My concept questions are :-

"You are too late. The train has left."
He told us that the train had left.
He said that the train left before he arrived at the station.
He said that the train had left

As Optilang has already said, those are NOT questions! Write QUESTIONS that will test the students' understanding of the statement 'When he arrived at the station, the train had left'. For example:

1. Did he see his train pulling out?
