Concentrating...

Hi - how to describe someone who is very focussed - he concentrating hard, he concentrated intensely? Any better phrases

Sounds good - any adverb to modify concentrating though ? I guess concentrating single-mindedly probably won;t work (?).

Hm, somehow I think they make an odd couple together.

Concentrate = focus your mind
Single-minded = being very persistent (maybe this wasn't such a good suggestion for a synonym)

Only a native speaker can judge that. But, in the meantime, may I suggest 'fully concentrate'?

There are at least half dozen synonyms possibly meeting the definition of "focused". How about making a few sentences so that we can see how you intend to use it ?

Well, all I want to say is that someone is immersed in an activity and gives it his full attention. How to say that using e.g. concentrate + adverb or focus + adverb ?

Ok, since you couldn't provide a sample sentences, I would offer you this approach. I would say that "concentrate" and "focus" don't seem to be used commonly with adverbs, although there may be contexts that fit your querry which I can't think of at the moment
