I've come to understand that concede can mean to admit or accept a position of your opponent reluctantly as in:
"I concede your point."
However, since concede can also mean to yield or surrender. Is it not possible to use concede in a fashion to surrender a position you previously accepted to be true? So for example...
"I concede my position on global warming."
