People’s opinions differ as to whether or not the necessary for using computers as a teaching aid in the classroom. While there are some strong arguments against the benefits of computers, I still believe that it is a relevant aspect of education.
There are several reasons why people might argue that computers are doing unprofitable than good for children. Firstly, there is evidence to support the idea that computers do nothing to improve educational outcomes. For instance, countries such as Vietnam, where students do not study with any kind of technology devices, regularly have a high rate of graduate students at University. Secondly, many parents would argue that school fee is already high and if including computer technologies, the school fee will be unacceptable. Finally, it is recognized that studying with computers for long-term will increase dependent levels of students on devices.
In spite of the above arguments, I support the view that computers run an importable role in developing the intellect of children. The main benefit of the computer is the access it provides to the internet as a pool of knowledge, children can collect useful information from the pool. Furthermore, students can apply the knowledge that they have learnt in the classroom. For example, homework from school may require a lot of information about the economics of other countries, students can use computers for searching for clues and do homework easier. In my opinion, it is essential for students on using the computer as a way to develop wisdom and open their mind.
In conclusion, computers certainly have its drawbacks, but I believe that the benefits outweigh them in the long-term.
