Computer tech question:Why not "writing attributes"

why are the attributes of most HHD/SSDs' writing attributes called "write attributes" instead of "writing attributes"?

Would LOVE to know!
THANKS:)

I presume you're talking about IT jargon here! I would imagine that they were interested in brevity when they coined those terms.

YES as the title already indicates it is a tech-related question(but not to difficult I'd believe, if you're any acquainted with computer/technology)
Plus, I wouldn't have bothered if I'd rather just use abbreviation/acronym.
I want to get a better understanding of it:)

Most likely those who say "write attributes" are talking about the attributes of the "write" command or the "write" process. However, it would be no surprise if some authors used "writing attributes" for this. As far as I know there is no precise standard regarding this sort of usag
