Comprehension question

Could anybody please check the answer?

Please read the sentence given in bold letters and then read the statement given below.

Britain has a higher proportion of economically active women than any of our four EC parteners, with the exception of Denmark.

YES or NO: Denmark is the only EC country with fewer economically active women than Britain.

Answer: YES, because the statement contradicts the sentence given above it.

Am I correct?

Also, the sentence only speaks of four EC partners, and there are many EC countries. We are told nothing of the number of economically active women in these other countries.

As a minor comment, I wonder what it means to say a woman is economically active.

Does it mean she has a job?

Yes, my interpretation is that the woman is working.
