compound/complex ?



Dear Gurus

(1)Please tell me if it is correct in classifying the following sentences this way:


1.I would go with you, but I am tired and just want to go to bed. (compound)

2.I would go with you although I am tired and just want to go to bed. (complex)

3.I would go with you if I'm not tired; I just want to go to bed now. (compound-complex)

4.I just want to go to bed now; however, I would go with you if I’m not that tired. (compound-complex)
(2) Are all of the following sentence formations acceptable?


1. You have to make a decision soon to learn French or German.

2. You have to make a decision soon. Your choices are to learn French or German.

3. You have to make a decision soon whether to learn French or German.

4. You have to make a decision soon; you can choose either to learn French or German.

5. You have to make a decision soon: either to learn French or German.

I would go with you, but I am tired and just want to go to bed. I would go with you although I am tired and just want to go to bed. I would go with you if I'm not tired; I just want to go to bed now.
