Compound senetce

Hello,

1.Harry bought a horse and rode it home.

Here one subject and two verbs connected with "and " coordinator.

Is it an example of a compound sentence?

Is subject an essential part of each independent clause of a compound sentence?

Can I think that subject of the second clause is left out?

Thanks.
