Compound adjectives

Can anyone help me with this sentence?

"The AF647-covalently-linked silica particle solution shows higher fluorescence intensity."

Is the adjective ok as is or should it be changed to:

"The covalently AF647-linked silica particle solution shows higher fluorescence intensity."

(adverb + noun + past participle [as adjective] ---> is this ok?)

Thank you.

Trying to put that all into an adjective phrase is awkward at best. Perhaps this would be the better choice: The covalently-linked AF647-silica particle solution shows higher fluorescence intensity.

Mister Micawber's answer is correct.

You may also wish to consider:

The covalently-linked Alexa Fluor 647 (AF647) silica particle dye shows higher fluorescence intensity.

Hope this helps.
