I am given to write a composition about a more political issue.I am used to read articles and op-eds written by journalists.I wonder what the difference is between composition,article and essay when they are about political issues.

article - Usually suggests something that is written for publication, and often for money.

Compositions/essays and articles have rules of style and construction applicable to each. That the subject is of a political nature does not really matter.
