Composition

Hello everyone,

Could you please make corrections to my compositions if there are any mistakes?

I was a clever student at primary school, and I was given gifts at my high school every year due to my cleverness. Everything went well up to grade 12. I tried a lot and got tired. Despite happening some bad events to me, I didn't stop trying. Everything happened later was unexpected. I couldn't get high marks, and I was admitted to a college/department which wasn't to my liking, and it hurt me a lot. This situation causes me not to try hard and decreases the possibility of my success in my studies.
