Composed/absorbed

Hi

An author of a certain book writes about time and says that it doesn't have to be linear.

The actuality of this (the fact that present, past and future are occuring at once), of course would be impossible to describe or fully conceive of with our human brains that are so accustomed to our little concept of linear time, and with this language that relies on time and is, in fact, composed and absorbed in a thoroughly linear way.

Does "composed" mean that our language is created in a linear way? Or maybe that we "use it" in a linear way?

Does "absorbed" mean "understood"?
