Hi.

It is requested to explain the conotation of the word compliment to me.

when somebody praises me and addresses me with phrases such as highly qualified, diligent, conscientious and so forth. if I respond by saying. Thanks for your compliment.

Have I humbled myself and saying that I don't deserve the praise or sth else is understood by that response.

In sum, is it a correct way of thanking someone praises. Can you provide me with other alternatives
