"Complicated jobs is/are our specialty"

"Complicated jobs is our specialty."

Or

"Complicated jobs are our specialty."

I say "are", as the subject "jobs" is plural.

My friend thinks it's "i if you consider "complicated jobs" to be a collected unit of types of jobs.

Thoughts?
