Complex sentence

Could someone tell me please how this is a complex sentence:

I burned dinner but not the cake.

And it uses a coordinating conjunction.

Thanks.

It's not a complex sentence: it's a simple one consisting of a single clause containing a coordination of two noun phrases, "dinner" and "but not the cake". The whole coordination "dinner but not the cake" is direct object of "burned".
