Complex sentence

Hello,

1. The football game was cancelled because it was raining.

I have to convert the above sentence into a simple sentence.

A.The football game was cancelled because of the rain.

Is (A) correct?

A. We have to live ,so we have to eat. (compound)

B. We eat to live. (Simple)
