complete + to~ VS ~ing?

I completed writing my first book.

OR

I completed to write my book.

Are they the same or does the meaning change for each case like "Stop ~ing" and "stop to~V?"

With 'complete', only #1 is correct syntax.
You complete something.

eg I completed my task.
eg I completed writing my first book.
