Complete the sentence

Every culture and period of history has its great artists...
1- but we can't be completely sure when and why that civilisation ended.
2- although great writers of our time are more interested in fame and money.
3- and it is our responsibility to collect as much information as possible about them.

1 tries to connect the fact that great artists exist in all cultures and throughout history with uncertainty about the end of "that civilization", where no particular civilization has even been mentioned previously. That

The sentence though is always going to be part of a bigger narrative, so you could have something like -

2. Writers are the jewel of any society in which they occur, and seek out and express the meaning of life where others seek out war and worldly things. Every culture and period of history has its great artists, although great writers of our time are more interested in fame and money.
