Hey there, I am a little confused about the usage of the word "Competitive". If I am organizing an inter-school competition, can I rename it as a "competitive event"?
When I checked "competitive" in the dictionary, its synonyms included words like "ruthless" and "aggressive".
I checked the other meanings as well, but the first one (that said "relation to or characterized by competition") had these synonyms. Now, I am not sure if it would be correct if I used "Competitive Event" instead of "Competition". I want to give it a more generic meaning and that is why I want to use "Competitive Events" instead of "Inter-School Competition".
Please, help me out!
Do you want ordinary students to compete, or just those who are very skilled? Do you want to include in the title some mention of what the event will consist of? Clive
