Compere and compering

Hi

I am aware that the word compere (emcee) exists and is used, but I am not sure if compering is equally natural and/or common. Is it?

Is the dialogue OK?

A - How was the compering of the show?

B - It wasn't so good. The compere faltered a lot.

Thanks,

Tom

Oof! All I can say is it's not American. No one here will know what you're talking about if you use this term.

I have never heard compere used in American English.
