Compensate

Hi.

I am looking for a word similar to compensate but for good things.

compensate is used for balancing the effect of something bad,but , what do we use for balancing something good.

for example someone has done me a favor and I want to give him a good return, can I say I want to compensate his kindness or I have to use another word.

I would say, "I want to repay his kindness."

return is another.

reciprocate is another.
