Compared to the requirement of 4%

Hi,

Question:

I don't understand the grammar structure of the underlined part.
Is it a Participles clause?
Is it a reduced non-defining relative clause?
Is it a adverbial participles, adverbial clause?

Sentence:
In this year, the investment return is 5%, compared to the requirement of 4%.

Thanks

I think it's a (reduced), non-restrictive/defining clause. The complete sentence would be In this year, the investment return is 5%, compared to the (investment return) requirement of 4% . (it would make for poor style if you left the part in brackets)

  • I think it's a (reduced), non-restrictive/defining clause.
  • The complete sentence would be In this year, the investment return is 5%, compared to the (investment return) requirement of 4% .
  • (it would make for poor style if you left the part in brackets)
