Comparatives

We see "more" used to make comparatives - more strong as well as stronger. Am I right more is correct in that way? Some adjectives do not take -er, but are we knowingly allowed to say "At a seriouser level" - after having made a less serious point? Can we say "After the holy walk I was slimmer but none the piouser"? As a writer - like Zadie Smith - I think we can innovate without putting sic everywhere?
