Comparative Paragraph

Hello
I have been taught the format of a comparative paragraph which compares two novels.
I wish to know whether the quotations found within the novels should relate to one another.
That is, quotation B1 should have a similarity to quotation A1
and quotation B2 should have a similarity to quotation A2
(note: similarity of the quotations is not only the topic which is trying to be proven)

Quotations should help the reader to understand the point you are trying to explain to your reader. That's the reaaon or including quotations. If you still don't understand my explanation, I suggest you post your paragraph for us to comment on.

The topic is to prove whether the main characters are brave or not
X from novel 1 jumps of a cliff
So should I find a quotation from novel 2 in which the character jumps of a cliff or does other dangerous stunts. Or is it

Hi,

In that scenario, you just need a quotation that shows the second person is brave. The details do not have to be the same.

Or even a quotation that shows he is not brave
