Which would you use?

(2)He was more disappointed and angrier than I was.
(3)He was angrier and disappointed than I was.

They seem the same meaning. Only their place is changed? Am I wrong?

You are correct, the meaning is the same. (4) is slightly preferable for reasons of style, not grammar. "Angry" is a stronger adjective than "disappointed". Therefore we would tend to place it first. Also, "angrier" is three syllables whereas "more disappointed" is five. It soun
