Compact Digital Photography or Digital Compact Photography

Hi,
I will start publishing an online magazine on the topic of photography. I am not the actual writer of the magazine, I have just bought publishing rights. The magazine is written by a British lady and it is called "Digital Compact Photography". I am able to change the title if I want and I am not sure whether I will or not so I need some help.

My question is:
To a native English speaker - which title sounds best: "Digital Compact Photography" or "Compact Digital Photography"? I would vote for the second option but I'm not a native English speaker. And the British writer chose the first option... Please help me choose.

Thanks for your reply.

"Compact photography" would refer to photography with a compact camera (or "point-and-shoot" as some prefer to call it, mainly in the US I believe). As opposed to photography with a DSLR camera.

I agree "compact photography" sounds a bit silly, but which magazine title would you suggest for a magazine that contains articles about digital photography with

I didn't know that "compact" is Britspeak for "point-and-shoot". (I make no judgments about the silliness of British English, except "crumpet" is a funny word, like "wombat" or "pimpernel". I'm taking the ****.) Now that I do know that, I think I am not entitled to an opinion, as a dyed-in-the-wool American.

Hm. And here was I thinking that "Compact" was the universal description of this type of camera on both sides of the pond and "point-and-shoot" just slang used by a small minority in the US. If indeed Compact is British-only, then I would have to reconsider the name completely. I want the name of the magazine to make sense for both Brits and Americans... Thanks for the insight.

Well, that's just me. I am quite literal-minded. I can easily picture a compact camera, but the term does not necessarily mean that it is point and shoot to me. When I first saw your title, I had to try to guess what compact photography was, thinking it had to do with composition. Stupid, huh?

Not stupid at all. If it can be misinterpreted it surely will be. So I will need to find a better, more universal name.

I did a bit of simple research as well - checking the camera product pages on amazon.com vs amazon.co.uk - and it supports what you're saying.
Compact is obviously Brit-speak and Point-and-shoot the American term. So with that I will leave this board, thank enoon f
